About Jessica

Jessica Soukup lives in Central Texas with her wife Joanne.  She has two children; Cullen and Kayleigh.   As a family, they like to travel and have been to all 50 states and 27 different countries.

Jessica is a very active advocate for the LGBTQIA Community and frequently speaks at events, marches and rallies.  She spoke in January 2017 at the LGBTQ Human Rights Rally at the Texas at the Texas State Capitol, Queer Bomb in June of 2017 and at the 2018 Women's March and Roe V Wade Reproductive Rights Rally in Austin.

She also facilitates professional development courses at Texas State University on LGBQIA Allyship and Supporting Transgender and Gender Diverse People in Higher Education.

Jessica serves on the board of Campus Pride; a national organization that works to empower LGBTQ Student Leaders through training and development and maintains the Campus Pride Index, a ranking of Colleges and Universities across the US on their efforts towards LGBTQ Inclusion.

Jessica also serves an the Admin Team for Pantsuit Austin, a group of about 20,000 feminists in the Austin Area where she works to educate on LGBTQ topics and help people find the form of activism that fits their life.

She serves on the State Board for Pantsuit Republic, a group of 60,000 feminists across Texas that works to empower women and support marginalized communities.

Jessica is on the board of Queer Women in Leadership which works to provide self identified women from the LGBTQ Community with an opportunity to connect and get involved in a professional setting.

She has also joined the board of the Central Texas Transgender Health Coalition who works to improve the treatment and care of Transgender People among healthcare professionals.

In the summer of 2017, Jessica published He/She/They - Us: Essential information, vocabulary and concepts to help you become a better ally to the transgender and gender diverse people in your life.

Jessica is also active with the Transgender Education Network of Texas.
